Start with the neighbourhood and station entrances

Bologna’s website groups local services and news into six quartieri: Borgo Panigale–Reno, Navile, Porto–Saragozza, San Donato–San Vitale, Santo Stefano and Savena. Identify the neighbourhood of your address to find its service desks and notices.

At Bologna Centrale, Marconi Express is in the via de’ Carracci concourse. From Piazza Medaglie d’Oro, you reach it through pedestrian underpasses; allow for that walk when connecting with luggage.

Roger, bus arrivals and validation

TPER lists Roger for planning journeys and buying tickets. Its app page also lists WeBus for arrivals at your stop, including an indication of buses equipped with a wheelchair platform.

In the fare table, choose Bologna urban travel or the appropriate zonal journey. City Pass contains ten urban journeys; the published rule requires validation on each journey and when changing buses. Check the procedure for your paper or digital ticket.

Marconi Express and the overnight alternative

Marconi Express connects the airport, Lazzaretto and Bologna Centrale. At the airport, its station is reached from the departures level through a covered passage. Check the service’s tickets before buying a connection: the airport fare is listed separately.

As checked on 14 September 2026, the operator lists rail service from 5:40 am to midnight and bus Q between the airport and central station overnight. Check notices for your travel day, including replacement buses.

Use the Uffici comunali di prossimità

The Uffici comunali di prossimità combine registry, residence, identity-document and public-information services. Use the municipality’s booking link or call 051 2193400 to find the appropriate appointment. Distinguish the municipality’s headquarters from the desk you select.

Digitale Facile offers free help using digital services. It can help you access a form; the application requirements still depend on the procedure and your circumstances.

Arrange TARI when you take over the home

Bologna’s TARIweb bases registration on when the property becomes available to you, for example the tenancy start date. Prepare its usable floor area, cadastral information and the property and applicant details. The page states a 90-calendar-day deadline; check the current rule before filing.

The municipal form allows submission to entrate@pec.comune.bologna.it from an ordinary email address too. Online filing with SPID and appointments at Piazza Liber Paradisus 10 are also listed. The national chapter linked below covers tenancy agreements.

Check the municipality in supermarket listings

Conad’s Bologna page lists Spazio Conad at via Larga 10 and Conad at viale Abramo Lincoln 5, for example. It also includes stores in Anzola dell’Emilia and Imola: check the full address before choosing collection.

“Ordina e Ritira” means collection; “Spesa a Casa” is home delivery. The availability checker asks for your address and building number. These examples help locate options; they do not imply delivery to every neighbourhood or a personal store review.

Find an AUSL desk by the service required

On the AUSL page “Iscrizione degli stranieri extra-ue al servizio sanitario nazionale”, open the locations section and find Distretto Città di Bologna. It lists facilities including Navile and Borgo Reno, with links to the relevant desks.

Read the documents required for your category before visiting. Registration, choosing a doctor and booking an appointment are separate steps. For appointments, the AUSL homepage links to “Prenotazioni e disdette”; for doctor selection, use its dedicated Guida ai servizi page.

Nurseries: follow vacancies and waiting lists

The municipal graduatorie portal separates Nido d’infanzia from Scuola dell’infanzia. Check the latest allocation results and institutions with available places, filtering by neighbourhood and facility. Waiting-list positions can change in later rounds.

School enrolment and additional services have their own procedures. The municipal meals and before/after-school form provides for automatic renewal in the cases it describes. When changing school or withdrawing from a service, ask the Ufficio Scuola which notice is needed.

Use Rifiutologo and keep TARI separate

In Hera’s Rifiutologo, select Casa for household information and enter the municipality. Its menu includes Stazioni ecologiche, Distribuzione materiali and Segnala un problema: routes to collection points, supplies and reporting problems.

The municipality’s campaign with Hera also covers Carta Smeraldo and disposal of small appliances and bulky items. Confirm collection or drop-off arrangements with the operator before leaving objects outside. The municipality handles the TARI tax declaration, through the route in the housing chapter.

ZTL, the university area and city-centre access

The municipal “Circolare nella zona a traffico limitato” page groups authorisations by purpose, including hotel or garage access, electric vehicles and daily entry tickets. Choose the case matching your journey before entering.

Parts of the centre have additional rules. Zona T and the university area have separate pages; the municipality describes Belle Arti and Belmeloro as pedestrian/cycle areas restricting cars, motorcycles and mopeds around the clock. A general ticket or permit should not be taken as unrestricted access to every street.

Month-by-month climate and wetter periods

In this historical reference, the three months with the highest estimated precipitation are November, October, May. Values below show average air temperature and approximate monthly precipitation. They are neither maximum/minimum temperatures nor a forecast for next year.

  • January: 3.5 °C · 41 mm
  • February: 4.6 °C · 58 mm
  • March: 8.6 °C · 54 mm
  • April: 12.9 °C · 52 mm
  • May: 17.7 °C · 62 mm
  • June: 23.0 °C · 50 mm
  • July: 26.1 °C · 39 mm
  • August: 25.6 °C · 39 mm
  • September: 19.9 °C · 58 mm
  • October: 14.7 °C · 74 mm
  • November: 9.0 °C · 82 mm
  • December: 4.4 °C · 48 mm

Method: NASA POWER, 2001–2020 climatology at a city reference point; T2M in °C and PRECTOTCORR in mm/day multiplied by days in each month (February: 28.25). Rounded gridded MERRA-2-derived estimates, not observations at a neighbourhood station. Terrain, urban heat and distance from the sea can change local conditions.

Use the figures to compare ventilation, insulation and heating. Plan rain protection in wetter periods and shaded routes with drinking water in heat. For specific dates, use forecasts and Protezione Civile/municipal alerts. Monthly averages cannot predict a storm, flood or heatwave.

Follow your neighbourhood and ask for support

On the municipal homepage, “Nel tuo quartiere” links to each area’s notices. For a specific request, the footer separates digital-service support, appointments and “Segnala disservizio”. Keep any reference number the service provides.

Italian menu and organisation names are retained to make them easier to find. Sources may open in Italian. If a page moves or guidance stops working, send MyCommunity.Living a correction through its contact page, including the affected URL and current source.
