Description
This new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra is a collaboration between Teatro del Maggio and Valencia’s Palau de les Arts. James Conlon conducts the Maggio orchestra and chorus, with staging by Àlex Ollé and George Petean in the title role. Political struggles and family conflict surround the Doge of Genoa; it is a choice for audiences exploring Verdi’s operatic drama and the lower voices central to this work.
There are four performances in Sala Grande, Piazza Vittorio Gui 1, Florence: 15 November 2026 at 5 pm; 18 November at 8 pm; 22 November at 3:30 pm; and 24 November at 8 pm. All times are local. The theatre estimates approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, without guaranteeing an exact finish. The date range does not mean daily performances.
The first-performance table checked on 14 September 2026 listed full prices from €15 for restricted visibility to €130 in Platea 1; gallery €35 and boxes €45. Check date, section and availability before buying. The theatre states that online purchases carry no presale surcharge, while its box office and Servizio Cortesia charge 10%. PDF tickets can be shown on a phone.
Arrive before the start: entry is not allowed during the performance, and latecomers may be seated at the first available interval.
